I have been given the chance to design the package for gift box when working in LUSH, as part of their Co-creation project to celebrate the Mid-autumn festival from the Asian culture. The festival celebrates family reunions and appreciating the beauty of nature, when the moon is the brightest and the fullest in the year.

Hence the design of the giftbox utilised the colour of dark blue and yellow highlight, from the colour of night sky and the moon, to create a feeling of calmness and a strong visual contrast. Decorated with elements like abstract clouds patterns with rabbit, an animal traditionally linked with the festival, for a dreamy and peaceful atmosphere.
I believe what makes Mid-Autumn special from other Asian festivals, is that other than family gatherings, we also take a moment of tranquillity and peace along with our loved ones, to appreciate the moon, nature, and most importantly the time we spend with each other. The moon is almost like a metaphor for all the connections we have with each other, in a more peaceful and spiritual sense.
